Alumni Spotlight | Zoe Hollinshead

Zoe Hollinshead (DMA Class of 2015) is a recent graduate of the Juilliard School under the direction of Alicia Graf Mack and currently in her first year with The Royal Ballet of Flanders under the direction of Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. During her time at Dancemakers, Zoe recieved numerous awards and accolades including making it to the Top 10 at The Dance Awards in 2015. She was named regional outstanding dancer at her very first competition and has placed in 7 nearly every dance competition that she has entered.

Upon graduation from Dancemakers and Westlake High School, Zoe was chosen among 40 candidates in the world to attend the most prestigious performing arts school in the nation, The Julliard School. Zoe was the first person in over 40 years to be accepted into The Julliard School from the state of Georgia. “Each year, the Julliard School only selects 6 percent of its applicant pool, for the dance department, that equates to 12 women and 12 men out of a pool of over 1,000 applicants from about 40 different countries.”

Upon graduation, she was recruited by “One of Europe’s top ballet companies” (New York Times), Ballet Vlaanderen, known locally as Royal Ballet of Flanders. She is now nearing the end of her first year with the company. This June, Zoe was recognized as a Gratitude and Tonic Featured Artist for the Princess Grace Foundation. The Princess Grace Foundation – USA is dedicated to elevating extraordinary emerging artists in theater, dance, and film via awards in the form of grants, scholarships, and fellowships. Our awards program continues the legacy of Princess Grace (Kelly) by advancing excellence in the arts in America.
